Very recently I arranged a local workshop to change my engine oil.
I supplied am OEM Holden filter, new sump drain plug with washer & 5 litre container of Shell Helix HX7 (10-40, semi-synthetic).
The drain plug was badly burred & I could not remove hence unable to do this myself.
A routine fluids check today & I see the oil is sitting about 20 - 25 mm above the full line on the dipstick.
I am surprised: the outfit that did the work is a 2 man outfit of experienced people, surely they know enough to check the fill progress?
Anyway how important is this, should I now remove the excess oil (now the drain plug should be no problem). Or maybe just let it burn off.
My Vehicle is basically a short hop shopping basket, 140,000 Km & normally uses so little oil that I hardly ever have to top up.
What a performance & something so simple, can anyone be trusted??
