Just got problem with my series 1 VT SS. I had the tranny go a few months ago and drove it to my mechanics to have tranny replaced. When driving there it reved abit then it would change up. Im letting you know as believe this caused my issue. Just before I got csr there it starting making ticking sound intermittently.
Had the tranny changed, sounded and drove fine, about 3 kms down the road car started making ticking sound again, thought maybe loose exhaust/ extractors.
Anyway listened to engine and heard ticking from drivers side rocker cover. Took off and noticed second rocker arm from front was loose, ie had up and down play, I removed push rods and all straight, no signs of wear on either end, rocker arm looks ok. Except when I look at part that bolts rocker where it attaches to loose side it seems to sit higher on the rocker compared to all the others. ( hope that makes sense).
