vs v6 commodore ute 2000 olympic edition
so had the crack in the rad, replaced it with a duel core aluminium rad... decided to change all hoses and put a new thermostat. even though i was careful to twist the hoses first i still broke the heater valve (old age) so had to buy a new one, then as i said in another post i had decided to do two rad flushes and yes it cleaned all the gunk out and in doing so it revealed a leak from the back of the water pump where the pulley shaft is..... so ordered a new one.
now.... new rad fitted new pump fitted new hoses new coolant new thermostat new heater valve...... oh i also fitted new spark plugs and leads.... (magnacor leads and twin spark brisk evo plugs) car running great, seems like more power then before...?
any way now i have sprung a new leak, this time it is where the hoses for the heater come out.... not a big leak but needs to be fixed.... before i waste some of that new premium coolant i was wondering if any one new how the aliminium pipes that the hoses are attached to work. seems like a mounting plate with the hose connection is then fed into a hole in the engine block and this is where the leak is.... is there some sort of seal that can be replaced or is it a new unit that i will have to buy....? can it be repaired....?
