Ticking noise when I select drive.

I have a VF Series I Auto V8 Ute.

I have a tapping noise coming from the car for a few seconds after I select drive for the first time each day.

I have reported this to my dealer but they say it is normal. Not sure if that's right or not.

Any ideas or pointers.
