Differential leak

Recently I've noticed oil over the differential housing which wasn't there 10,000 ks ago.

I'm wondering can the Nulon Engine Stop Leak be safely used in the differential.

I already have a bottle which states can be used to control leaks in manual gearboxes and differentials.
Just wondering are the differentials the same in the manual and automatic cars.
