Hey Guys,
I have had to replace the Brake Light Switch twice now on my VT Commodore, about to be a 3rd time.. (within 2 months). I am doing it correctly as per a YouTube video i watched (not a difficult procedure).
Upon inspection of the area under the dash when i replace the Brake Light Switch however, there is a lot of what appears to be oil (not black) of some sort everywhere, including over the wires that connect to the switch. I would safely presume this is far from normal and it is leaking from something, potentially the culprit for the frequently failing Brake Light Switches? Not sure where it is coming from though :\
When i put the new brake light switch in, it works perfectly for a week or so.. then the brake lights work intermittently (usually not at all in the morning, but on the way home 75% of the time it will work)
If it helps any, the tail light globe (top one on back window) appears a lot brighter than it used to, I replaced the globe when i got my first replacement brake light switch (globe chosen by Super Cheap auto staffmember that said its fine for VT Commodore) could this be linked to the failing brake switches too?
Thanks for your help
