Hi all,
I have do a search on this but didn't come up with much.
I have a VE omega v6 2008. 178 klm.
When you turn right around a roundabout going at a fast walking pace you can hear a squealing noise sounds just like a squeaking brake pad. "NO foot on the brake."
The noise is not loud. Can be heard better in a side street with window down. Seems to be coming from R/front.
The sound can not be made when turning left.
It sounds like a motion noise which is fairly consistent. So it will stay there as long as the car is in motion and turning right.
It will come on if you drive straight at about 10k then veer to the right.
I thought that it may be a front wheel hub.
The brakes do softly squeal when pulling up at the lights. "Foot on brake and driving straight"
A took the car down to Holdens. I asked them to adjust the Handbrake and diagnose the squeaking when turning Right.
They have said that they would start off by replacing the top strut bearings. they gave me a quote of supply and fit.
Now the guys at Holdens are FAR more experienced than I will ever be , but for me a strut bearing will not be a motion noise, it will be more of when you turn the wheel sitting still and will not continue with the motion of the car.
They said maybe its not it but I should replace the strut bearings anyway.
So what do all you guys think it could be. I have looked to see if the rotor guard is rubbing but it is not.
Pease comment.
