I have had the old girl for a little while now and noticed it was going through too much fuel, something like 17l/100 using 98 octane flavour.
Then I found all the fuel return and limiter hoses had perished and or broken on top of the fuel behind the splash shield up by the fuel filler neck. So, I have had them fixed.
The fuel economy has come back to around 14l/100 on 98 octane but I would have thought that still a heap of fuel for a 6 cylinder. I am not lead footed and drive pretty conservatively. It is a mixture of city and Adelaide hills driving.
Based on experience from readers here, what should I expect? If 14//100 is too high, what can I look for to bring it back a bit?
