Restoring Trolley Strips/Moulds

Hey guys,

I've finally managed to get the black trolley strips/moulds off my VX Exec.

After f*&king hours with a caramel wheel, all the sikaflex is off too :)

I've managed to get some colour matching strips off a VX Equipe from the wreckers but the plastic coating on top of the chrome piece is peeling off on a couple of the strips.

Is there any way of remove the outer plastic coating or polish the chrome part back to a shine?

I'd love to leave the exec without the strips on but the previous owner must have used super glue to glue one of the strips back on which has left a great big bit that I can't get off (without acetone ahh)

Any advice would be great!
