I have an alternator decoupler pulley fitted to my manual 3.8L 2003 VY S. It was fitted after I bought the car to stop the serpentine belt chirping when the car was started.
Over the last week or so there has been an intermittent rumbling bearing type noise coming from the alternator. Its most noticeable when the engine is decelerating, e.g. when you take your foot off the gas to change gear. The alternator bearings have been checked/replaced. It's looking like the decoupler pulley is the culprit. It's done about 300,000 km.
The pulley isn't listed as part of the alternator and was fitted by the Holden dealer as a "fix" for the chirping noise from the drive belt. I'm not sure it's a Holden part. The numbers etched into the front of the pulley are 92067619 374B1 along with the words "Made in Canada".
We tried looking for pulleys with this part number without any success. Does anyone have any idea who makes this pulley and or a supplier?
