Can you use Wet & Dry on headlights?

Hey,
I just bought some genuine SSV projector headlights and was disappointed to see that they'd been peppered with stones throughout their life.
My car isnt a daily driver and the stone chipped lights would look out of place, so I was wondering if I could hit them with wet and dry and then polish them up. I suppose I'm just asking if they have a coating on them that shouldnt be removed by the process.
