1998 VT Constant Misfire

hi all looking for some advice on the problem my vt has been giving me before i throw more $$$ at it!

Drove it this morning to take the Mrs to work without any issues about a 30min drive, then 4 hours later going to pick her up about 2 minutes after leaving home it starts misfiring still drivable just sluggish felt like 5cyl completely random has never missed a beat in the 3 months I've driven it daily.

things to note, takes a while to fire but cranks fine, has an error code 47 no crank signal, with the sensor plugged in the car starts if you remove the plug it wont start.

ive worked my way up from the bottom of the most common issues of a misfires on these ecoticks.

Plugs Replaced
with NGK BPR6EFS-15 - previously had the wrong ones in them out of a v8 falcon :bomb: the correct ones have made the misfire worse it is now un drivable stalls in drive only just idles in neutral/park.
Leads replaced from factory to 0.8mm NGK Blue Silicone - made no difference from standards standards worked fine in my other vt
Coils replaced with known working ones out of my other vt no difference existing one works fine in other vt
DFI Module replaced with known working one out of the other vt no difference existing one works fine in other vt
All connections and sensors cleaned with contact cleaner no difference

so far i believe there is a problem with the crank angle sensor, i dont really want to buy the tools to remove my harmonic balancer if i dont have to could it be an ecu problem or wiring has anyone experienced the same issue?
